Burnout recovery is often framed as taking time away, slowing down, or making major life changes. But for today’s dental professionals facing acute staffing shortages, packed patient schedules, and rising financial pressures, stepping away is rarely an option. When the work cannot stop, how do we build shared capacity to move through it together?
This wellness session bypasses generic self-care advice to focus on real-time capacity building. Highlighting the unique physical and mental demands of the dental environment, participants will learn concrete strategies to stabilize during periods of depletion, audit and reduce unnecessary workplace load, and micro-restore boundaries between patients. We will explore how to build incremental recovery directly into a demanding workday, identify when “grit” becomes toxic, and establish clear metrics for when individual coping strategies must give way to broader systemic changes.
